REFLECTIONS is a 50+ year National PTA program recognizing arts, building confidence, and fostering learning. Each year 300,000 Pre-K to Grade 12 create original art based on a student-chosen theme, enabling them to explore personal ideas, develop artistic skills, and foster a love for learning that contributes to their overall success in school and life.
This Year’s Reflections’ Theme: “Accepting Imperfections”
This theme serves as a powerful reminder that our flaws and mistakes are just as much a part of us as our strengths and are a natural and beautiful part of being human. More at: https://www.pta.org/home/programs/reflections
This year at Fremont, we received 12 submissions total with all grades being represented. We had our Reflections Ceremony in November. 6 submissions were selected as first place to go on in the Reflections Program journey. Our 5th grader Zoe McCabe received first place at Fremont for her piece, "Old Eyes on Wheels" entered in the Photography Category under the Accessible Arts Division. Her piece went on to win first place in this category at the Long Beach Council PTA, and then at the Thirty Third Council District. Her piece now goes on to State PTA judging. We are so thrilled for Zoe and the McCabe family! Zoe and her family will be invited to the Long Beach Council art show and celebration in March.
